Job Summary:
Avfuel is in search of a diesel technician to perform heavy truck maintenance and repair on the nation's largest, most diversified commercial aviation refueler fleet. In this role you will diagnose and repair heavy truck engines and chassis up fitted with aircraft fuel delivery systems in accordance with manufacturer and industry guidelines. Assist in shop maintenance and/with production teams as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of heavy truck repair and maintenance including but not limited to engine diagnostics and repair, hydraulic brakes, air brakes, steering, exhausts and electrical wiring.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have a comprehensive set of mechanic's tools for heavy trucks
- Experience with DPF/ SCR systems diagnostic and repair
- Experience with Cummins, International and Isuzu diesel engines
- Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) Regulations
- Self-starter with flexibility and motivation
- The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other staff members
- Occasional travel required
- Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods if needed
Training, Experience and Qualifications:
- (5) five years of diesel mechanic experience
- ASE Certified T-2 (Medium/Heavy Duty Diesel) Certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with CDL endorsement preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks
