SJ Hauck Construction, a leading company specializing in house lifting, deep foundation work, demolition, and construction foundations across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic. We need someone who is self-driven, motivated, and takes pride in their work to join our team at our 6,000-square-foot fleet shop within an 18,000-square-foot warehouse. In this role, you will perform essential maintenance, DOT inspections, diagnostic testing, and repairs on our extensive fleet, which includes Dodge 5500's, semi-trucks, pick-up trucks, skid steers, trailers, excavators, and hydraulic jacking equipment. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, this role is perfect for a mechanic eager to grow their career within a supportive and expanding organization.

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a fleet of approximately 50 trucks and 100 pieces of heavy equipment.
- Conduct and ensure DOT inspections and compliance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
- Execute welding and steel fabrication tasks as required.
- Maintain an organized workspace and manage tools and equipment efficiently.
- Be willing to make on-site road calls for equipment in need of repair.
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections, and repairs.
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with specific expertise in medium to heavy-duty construction equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, driveline, and related components.
- Competence in welding and steel fabrication.
- Strong computer literacy for diagnostics and record-keeping.
- Valid Driver's License required; willingness to obtain a Class A CDL if not already possessed.
- Must supply necessary hand tools for the job and be willing to undergo random drug testing.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
