As a Diet Clerk, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by obtaining, entering, maintaining and modifying dietary information for residents/patients. You will prepare dietary information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of foods.
What will I do as a Diet Clerk?
- Print weekly menu and distribute to units. Collect completed menus from units. As needed, meet with resident/patients to review weekly menu and food choices, and assist in making selections.
- Enter all resident/patient menu selections into computerized food service software. For new admissions, enter clinical diet information as notified by nursing unit. Process new diets and changes from Nursing, physician, etc.
- Review resident/patient menu selections to determine the quantity and portions of foods and diet types. Tally quantities of specific foods, such as vegetables and meats, to be prepared by the kitchen. Notify Executive Chef of the counts.
- Answer phone calls from nurses, residents/patients, family members, visitors regarding menu and diet. Answer questions and explains dietary selections.
- Print tray tickets for each meal. Cut and sort tray tickets for each unit. Ensure that all diet changes are reflected in tray tickets and are current.
What is required in this position?
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Requires two years' experience in healthcare food service.
