As a Cook at Oregon Care Center your job responsibilities will include: 

·       Prepares regular and therapeutic diets following oral and written instructions, menu’s recipes, spreadsheets etc., with knowledge of kitchen equipment operation.

·       Keeps food waste to a minimum.

·       Maintains routine meal schedules and serving times as set by facility policy.

·       Prepares foods for special parties and groups and assists in the planning of these events in a cooperative manner.

·       Cleans and maintains the kitchen in a safe and sanitary manner including floors, walls, all equipment and utensils.

·       Performs dishwashing of pots, pans and other designated items.

·       Ensures orders are checked in and put away in an accurate and orderly manner to avoid waste

·       Supervises kitchen staff in a fair and professional manner.

·       Assumes all responsibility in the absence of dietary supervisor.

·       Follows all policy and procedures for food safety and maintains sanitary cooking environment and food storage area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       High School Diploma or equivalent

·       Must be able to prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.

·       Must have knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation and principles of safe food handling.

·       Preference given to experience in cooking.
