Main Job Requirements:
· Establishes and maintains high standards of food service to visitors and staff and nutritional support to residents by initiating and implementing departmental Policy and Procedure in conformance with governmental regulations.
· Assures that the overall coordination and integration of the administrative and therapeutic dietetic services are maintained.
· Implements the home’s Policies and Procedures.
· Is responsible for the departmental budget.
· Initiates or recommends changes in techniques and procedures for a more efficient, cost effective operation.
· Establishes procedures for ordering of food, controlling costs and maintaining an inventory to ensure the availability of food items to meet the needs of the menu.
· Reviews and approves menus prepared by the therapeutic dietitian.
· Assures that all records, reports, and analyses needed to comply with government regulations are established and maintained.
· Is responsible for quality control and adherence to sanitary and safety regulations.
· Sets standards and requirements for the selection of food service employees in accordance with the Human Resource Department’s philosophy and policy.
· Develops and maintains a good working relationship with other departments within Margaret Hall to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the Home.
· Reviews all food service employee performance evaluations and makes recommendation or suggestions for action to be taken.
· Attends administrative staff meetings and transmits information to department staff regarding new developments and trends.
· Develops and reviews organization chart, job descriptions, operation manuals and guide books for use of food service employees.
· Attends professional meetings and conferences to keep abreast of current practices and trends in management and dietetic services.
· Implements employee schedules for dietary department and processes time cards for dietary personel.
· Prepares and submits a monthly report to the Administrator.
