Company Overview: Digital Initiatives is the technology and venture arm for a family owned private equity group, BP Capital, based in Downers Grove, Illinois. BP Capital has a wide-ranging portfolio of companies that range from financial services to logistics.
Role Summary: Digital Initiatives has been tasked with setting up affiliate marketing businesses within the verticals we have experience within. Our first effort, Find Pet Insurance www.findpetinsurance.com, a pet insurance comparison website, is up and running today. This role will be an Account Manager tasked with initially managing the Find Pet Insurance vertical. This will entail negotiating deals with participating insurance partners, navigating partner budgets and positioning on the website. Of particular importance will be monitoring performance and obtaining reporting from the partners on the quality of the volume we are delivering. This role will then be tasked with setting up other affiliate verticals and will be responsible for overseeing them. The Account Manager will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our websites & marketing, analyzing digital performance, and providing actionable insights internally and externally. This role reports directly into the Principal but has heavy daily interaction with the COO and Partnerships & Marketing Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to current and future partners about participating in an aggregator or affiliate channel
- Meet routinely with each partner and attend to their needs with respect to pricing, volume, and customer service
- Report on performance daily/weekly to the Principal or other members of the organization
- Continuously find new strategies to optimize the overall vertical, such as increasing conversions or maximizing volume
- Oversee and manage partner contracts and other documents needed to launch each relationship
- Launch new opportunities within the affiliate site to generate the given content and bullet points
- Create marketing materials, such as emails and other content pieces that are needed to promote and highlight the partnership
- Identify new partner opportunities within each given vertical and take initiative in reaching out and launching the group
- Diligently maintain detail-oriented notes within the CRM of each partner meeting
Qualifications (required)
- 4-year undergraduate degree
- 2+ years of experience in account management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team
- Proactive mentality when working with external partners
