The Digital Press Operator we seek will operate and maintain large format digital printing equipment to produce high quality output according to work order specifications, product standards and approved proofs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily startup and maintenance including calibration, cleaning and quality assurance.
- Material handling including loading and offloading print media.
- RIP file processing using proprietary printer software.
- Monitor color consistency and work with Prepress Technician to adjust and recalibrate as necessary to ensure accuracy to standard and custom retains.
- Maintaining logs for ink batch and consumption.
- Maintaining logs for maintenance and repair.
- Maintaining inventory of consumables and wearable parts.
- Daily shutdown and maintenance.
- Preventative maintenance per manufacturer’s guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and monitor color. Must be able to distinguish colors across the full color spectrum.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lb.
- Stand, and/or walk during shifts between 8 and 12 hours.
- Lift, bend, reach above head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts between 8 and 12 hours long.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
- Digital and/or Commercial Print production experience a plus.
Typical 8 hour shift, Monday – Friday (hours include 1/2 hour lunch break). Additional overtime may be required.
All candidates must have reliable transportation, must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs, and be able to work assigned shift plus any needed overtime.
