Position Summary:
The Director of Broadcast Services oversees all current and future technical services provided at Dignity Health Sports Park. The Director will oversee the development of new services in coordination with the Executive Leadership Team. The Director of Broadcast Services may be required to carry out operational duties as needed for events or projects as deemed appropriate. These duties may include, set up, operation, maintenance, organization, installation and deployment of any broadcast, video, timing / clock, digital signage, and scoreboard equipment, at the Dignity Health Sports Park's Campus.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee Broadcast Services technical full-time and part-time staff (Audio/Video) while overseeing technical equipment and broadcast infrastructure.
- Lead and delegate technical needs of all events on campus in addition to stadium video, scoreboard, timing and scoring systems and IPTV. Managing assignments which include fiber connectivity, control room needs, and broadcast truck requirements for MLS events. Expanding services to one-off shows, facility events, concerts, and other sporting events.
- Collaborate with the LA Galaxy's Chief Creative Officer and the Game Presentation Department to identify best practices and opportunities to enhance the game day and guest experience.
- Develop standards and best practices to effectively and efficiently manage equipment use and equipment maintenance for all events. Maintain an organized inventory of equipment and tools including equipment lifecycle and replacement schedules including check in/check-out documents and maintenance logs.
- Oversee contracting and management of third-party vendors to ensure maintenance contracts are implemented. Make vendor and price recommendations to VP of Operations regarding services rendered/needed.
- Create and manage service quotes, estimates, and invoices for all events at Dignity Health Sports Park by investigating professional industry prices and setting competitive rates. Manage and introduce long-term improvements to tenants for upcoming events and future bookings.
- Direct oversight of broadcast department budgets including; part time and full time labor, and maintenance. Work with VP to identify necessary capex upgrades, additions, and/or changes needed for the broadcast and event presentation infrastructure.
- Maintain technical knowledge of all broadcast and event presentation systems to better understand all aspects of staff duties to effectively provide support when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree (4-year): Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related area
- 8-10 years: Related work experience
- Experience and ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team of technical employees
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn required business systems
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge of fiber optic transmission systems as they relate to broadcast industry
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively and in a professional, diplomatic and mature manner not only with clients and guests, but with co-workers within the organization
- Must be highly organized with excellent project management and people coordination skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure, recognize problems and find solutions
- Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of day–to-day tasks
- Ability to work well with fellow staff members, vendors, and clients
- Ability to communicate technical needs to others as well as interpret the needs of the customer

- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work long irregular hours for an extended period of time as dictated by events and schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay Scale: $149,812 - $160,000
