About the Department:
The units directly under the Senior International Officer (SIO) are the Global Education Office (GEO) and International Enrollment Partnerships (IEP). In addition, there is close collaboration with other international-focused units at the university such as INTO Mason, Mason Korea, and the Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS). These units collectively support the internationalization efforts of the university and support George Mason University's Strategic Plan, serving both students studying abroad, as well as international students coming to Mason.
About the Position:
GEO is seeking a Direct Enrollment and Bilateral Exchange Program Assistant. This position reports to the Manager, Direct-Enroll/Bilateral Exchange. This position maintains relationships with GEO staff, students, and administrative units on campus. Duties include answering student inquiries, processing student forms, advising students on program options, and the creation, maintenance, and publishing of program materials.

Responsibilities:
Administration and Record Keeping:
- Update online program materials and cost sheets; assist with maintenance of GEO handbook updates related to bilateral exchange and direct enroll programs; support office administrative functions related to exchange and direct enrollment programs.
Program Recruitment and Advising:
- Monitor daily emails and respond to student inquiries; advise students on program options and study abroad policies; assist with incoming exchange student program.
Promotion of Study Abroad and other duties as assigned:
- Assist with special projects; assist with organizing activities to promote exchange and direct enrollment; attend GEO events to promote study abroad; and
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; detail oriented and accurate.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate's degree required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; and
- Experience living, working or study abroad also preferred.
