Summary
Skyworks Solutions is a leading provider of acoustic solutions for mobile devices, wireless infrastructure, and IoT applications. We are seeking a talented and experienced SAW and BAW Filter CAD and EDA Director to lead our global team in the design and development of cutting-edge Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) and Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) filters Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Acoustics and EDA Engineering, this leader will set the tone for technical direction in conjunction with business leaders and other divisional engineering leaders to ensure commercial success. As the SAW and BAW Filter CAD and EDA Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and delivering high-performance filters to meet the demanding requirements of next-generation wireless communication systems and IoT devices.
Responsibilities

Manage a team of CAD and EDA engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship.

Define and implement CAD and EDA strategies and roadmaps for BAW and SAW filter design, simulation, and verification.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including device design, process integration, packaging, and test engineering, to ensure alignment and compatibility of CAD and EDA tools and flows.

Develop and implement advanced design methodologies and techniques to achieve superior filter performance, including improved insertion loss, bandwidth, and selectivity.

Collaborate closely with RF engineers, material scientists, and process engineers to integrate SAW and BAW filters into complex system architectures and manufacturing processes.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in SAW and BAW filter technology, CAD/EDA tools, and semiconductor processes to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Evaluate and recommend CAD and EDA software tools specifically tailored for SAW and BAW filter design to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables.

Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends related to SAW and BAW filter design and CAD/EDA methodologies. Evaluate and benchmark new CAD and EDA technologies and vendors and drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Establish and enforce best practices and standards for CAD and EDA documentation, data management, and quality assurance.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CAD and EDA issues and escalations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with academic institutions and research centers to access the latest research and innovations in BAW and SAW filter design and CAD/EDA methodologies. Collaborate with external partners to identify and explore new opportunities and challenges in the field.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of experience in CAD and EDA for BAW and SAW filter design and development, preferably in a leadership role.

Expertise in BAW and SAW filter design principles, modeling, simulation, verification, and testing techniques, including electromechanical, acoustic, and thermal analysis.

Proficiency in CAD and EDA tools and platforms, such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, Keysight, Ansys, etc., and ability to customize and automate design flows using scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, Tcl, etc.

Strong knowledge of BAW and SAW filter fabrication processes, packaging technologies, and reliability issues, and ability to optimize design for manufacturability and performance.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, and ability to present and communicate complex technical concepts to various audiences, including senior management, customers, and peers.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $166,600 - $333,100 per year per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
