The Opportunity
We see Business Development (BD) as the leader of an orchestra here at Relay Tx. You'll be connected across our company. You must be comfortable as the interface across our functions, as well as a connector within the organization.
We are seeking a highly collaborative Business Development Director to join our team. Our ideal colleague has a passion for cutting edge science and for maximizing the value it can bring to Relay Tx. Your role
- This role will rely on the ability to translate corporate strategy into BD strategy from search and evaluation to sell-side deal modeling and execution
- We'll count on your analytical ability and expertise to help us model multiple scenarios and opportunities
- You will be up front and center in helping guide transactions for our growing company. From tech transfers, SRA, to academic tech across deals, there will be a variety of transactions we will need you to be involved with coordinating.
- We'll depend on you to develop a deep understanding of contractual elements pertinent to each alliance and be our point person for all contractual obligations in the alliance space
- You will work closely with and support cross-functional teams to prep for interactions with our partners.
- Familiar and close enough to the details of the programs, you'll manage day-to-day issues and also provide strategic directions to the teams
- You will also help develop and deliver the vision for the alliance management function as we continue to evolve as a company
Your background
- You have spent at least 6+ years developing and executing on BD in the pharma/biotech industry
- You have seen many drug licensing transactions from start to finish
- Not necessarily a scientist by training, you still bring scientific knowledge and a strategic business development mindset
- You're a candid and articulate communicator, able to tell a compelling scientific story and build a strategic rationale
- You have a knack for identifying and creating the reports, processes, and template documents that will provide the most value and sharing them appropriately
- Your Excel and PowerPoint skills are strong; you're comfortable building complex models, doing deal analysis and market research for products. Making beautiful slides comes easy to you.
- You have at least a Bachelor's Degree. An advanced degree (MBA or PhD) is preferred
- You are most at home in a rapid pace, highly accountable environment where you can make a clear impact
