The Director, Business Development will focus on the pursuit of large/complex opportunities consistent with the market segment focus of the Business Unit and Serco overall. Have a strong background in managed services, solutions and/or business process outsourcing as well as proven success in developing new business within the US Federal Civilian market. Have a strong business development background in managed services and solutions with proven success in developing business with the US Federal Government. Specifically, with some or all the following agencies: HHS, VA, DOS,Commerce, USDA, GSA, etc
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for growth of the Business Unit’s new business and re-compete sales pipeline in the non-defense US Federal Government.
- Lead and support the pursuit of major bid activities and must be a team player who knows how to create and manage the synergy among business development, operations, capture management, and proposal functions.
- Use your domain expertise as well as an established professional network to support business development targets.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Overall, ten+ years of experience with five years proven track record of working with or providing services to the US Federal Government in Departments and Agencies such as: HHS, VA, DOS, Commerce, USDA, GSA, etc.
- Domain expertise in Case Management and/or application processing and administration
- Experience in managed services, solutions and/or BPO preferred,
- Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership team and act as an enabler of key projects and initiatives,
- Proven experience in developing and successfully executing sales/acquisition strategies for medium and large contracts ($25M - $300M)
- Experience delivering the full life cycle of business development activities, including market analysis, accounts planning, account management, opportunity identification and qualification, overall pipeline management, and the development and execution of win strategies.
- Successful legacy of meeting goals for consecutive years.
- Experience developing and maintaining strategic business plans, account plans (Opportunity Management Plans), marketing plans and budgets, and developing and measuring performance objectives.
- Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills to carry out daily interactions with technical leaders, business executives, customers, teammates/partners, and subcontractors.
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Must be eligible for Public Trust.
- Ability to travel

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $155,473.35 per year to $310,946.70 per year; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills
