About the Job
The Director of Digital Ecosystem Architecture will provide and support the vision of the Global Digital Solutions team to leverage the global Salesforce platform product roadmap supporting new and existing digital tools, lead the Data and Architecture team in establishing a consumer database, guide the Support team in implementing best practices in platform administration and engineering, and introduce innovation to our product offerings.
This individual will partner with Business, Product, and Solution Engineering teams on the delivery of new capabilities while ensuring our cloud systems are meeting daily business expectations and SLA’s. The role will partner across various internal and external functions within the Global Strategic Marketing and Global IT organization to contribute towards all digital strategies, platform governance & policy creation, promoting compliance through operational service management for both internal and external customers.
This role will enable strategic decision making through guiding the team in implementing best practices in platform administration and engineering and introducing innovation with automation for existing and new digital tools used to support our Salesforce architecture and our digital strategic roadmap.
The goal of this role is to proactively address and diminish our tech and data debt by implementing strategic initiatives focused on modernizing systems, optimizing data management practices, and minimizing technical and data liabilities over time.
The candidate needs to effectively communicate the return on investment (ROI) of any architectural decisions to key stake holders and provide key data points to support the decisions.
The ideal candidate will be able to see the big picture, have a passion for building global Digital Experiences, with a goal to provide the tools and capabilities that deliver critical business insights across multiple business groups. This individual is a strong and innovative leader, with a deep understanding of cloud technologies, enterprise database platforms, release management, operations, and proven ability to lead a distributed services organization to support complex global business processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Global Solution Architect to define & influence a multi-year technology strategy aligned to business roadmaps by leveraging deep understanding of Salesforce platform / cloud technologies, with primary focus on sales, marketing & customer solutions.
- As the leader of Data and Architecture team, act as the liaison between the engineering and business teams translating the organization’s digital strategy, goals and processes to ensure requirements, priorities and projects are properly aligned - including the overarching global strategy, roadmap, and assess feasibility of features leading into a potential project / business case.
- Experience with salesforce technologies (Sales, Experience, Service, Commerce, Analytics, Datorama, Tableau) and the ability to be hands on and able to configure salesforce database to assist and mentor engineers as needed.
- Knowledge of other cloud platforms and solutions like Mulesoft, AWS, SAP.
- Develop, mentor, and coach team members and effectively partner with supporting teams while working in a global matrix organization.

Stay informed on technology trends and product roadmaps to make informed solution architecture and technology recommendations, identifying capabilities of different digital / marketing technologies which challenge current processes to grow and evolve digital transformation for Merz AX.

Job Related Qualifications/Skills
Professional Experience
- Required:
- 15+ years experience in engineering and technical hands-on roles with a broad awareness of tech platforms enabling Salesforce: Integration, Web based platforms, Analytics
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Salesforce applications; Sales, Service, Experience Cloud, Cloud Craze, Lightening Commerce, Marketing Cloud Tableau, Datorama
- Demonstrated experience using quantitative and qualitative data to inform build of web and creative services
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of SQL
- Demonstrated relationship building and problem-solving skills
Education
- Required:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related quantitative discipline
- Preferred:
- Salesforce certifications
