Position Overview
Join a nonprofit committed to empowering youth through 1-to-1 mentoring relationships and ensuring every young person has access to culturally competent, caring mentors. As the Director of Grants and Contracts, you will oversee the entire grant-seeking process from public and private sources and manage all associated deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of the grant process including research, application, stewardship, and reporting
- Research and identify private, corporate, city, state, and federal funding opportunities
- Collaborate with leadership to align grant applications with organizational goals and ensure budgeted returns
- Verify organizational capacity to meet grant deliverables and secure leadership buy-in before proposal submission
- Draft and submit proposals in line with grant guidelines and deadlines
- Calculate and update leadership monthly on funding projections based on current grant opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with funders through site visits and inquiries
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and requirements with leadership and staff after grant award
- Oversee the award process, including contracts, acknowledgments, reporting, and budget coordination
- Maintain outcomes and research data in SharePoint and Salesforce, and ensure all electronic grant files are accurate
- Gather and manage organizational documents for external use
- Maintain agency accounts, including grant websites, donor portals, and registrations
- Attend fundraising events and provide support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of successful grant writing and management experience
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; proficient in synthesizing complex information and managing data for diverse audiences
- Proven experience in promoting equity and supporting diverse communities
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, and problem solving skills
- Display the utmost level of integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with fundraising software
- Valid US driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation for occasional local travel
- Experience in program development; passion for youth mentorship
Compensation
- Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
