Job Summary
The job is accountable for improving business and talent performance and acting as a thought leader to executive(s) within Kennametal. As a global strategic talent leader, you will be aligned to the Infrastructure Business Segment (approx. 800M revenue, 3000 employees across 19 plants) and own the development and lead the implementation of a comprehensive forward looking global talent and organizational strategy for that group. This senior-level HR position entails tackling the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges at a strategic level and successfully partnering with the business unit leader to create value for the business.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Thought partner to the Infrastructure Business Segment President and Business Unit Leaders on organizational and people-related strategy and execution.
- Develop and drive 2–3 year talent strategy or roadmap in collaboration with executive leader for their business/function that supports the business strategy
- Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment with the strategy by helping executive leaders anticipate barriers, prioritize deliverables, and build organizational capabilities,behaviors, structures and processes.
- Review key talent performance targets, their related talent implications with business leaders, and develop innovative solutions to support the business.
- Coach senior leaders to enhance leadership abilities, relationships among teams/individuals and interpersonal communication, as well as provide effective performance feedback.
- Advocate for key talent management and development, including collaborating with executive leaders on their critical talent development plans.
- Identifies talent gaps and the necessary future skills and abilities to develop the right talent acquisition and development strategies.
- Deploy appropriate plans including succession, talent acquisition, recognition, compensation programs and organizational design to address the needs of the business.
- Champion our culture of accountability and support our environment of continuous improvement, innovation and safety.
- Drive to secure employee engagement through the coaching of leaders and driving of change management.
- Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison between the line, HR operations and COEs to ensure HR services are aligned with internal client needs.
- Utilize data to identify, evaluate and problem solve as well as make decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources · Masters in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred ·
- 15+ years in Strategic Human Resource Experience to include talent strategy development, change management and data analytics
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams globally
- Ability to develop strategic concepts into an actionable plan
- Executive communication skills
- Experience in driving change and results
