This position requires extensive and diversified knowledge of material management practices and principles. In Fluor, Material Management encompasses sourcing, purchasing, expediting, material planning, field purchasing, warehousing and logistics.
The role ensures the accurate, timely, and cost-effective identification, sourcing, purchasing, delivery, warehousing, installation, and commissioning of materials and equipment. In coordination with the Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) effort and/or facility and overhead department support, this role negotiates or supervises complex commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best value, emphasizing the on-time delivery of materials and equipment.
Technical and professional knowledge in job-related areas is required to maintain awareness of business unit activity and keep the strategic business line president’s direct reports informed about material management matters. This position requires strategic thinking and action, considering all available facts and data, as well as considering alternative courses of action, resources, constraints, and company values. Work is performed in the home office and field locations for projects ranging in duration from short term to long term.
