A Brief Overview
The Director Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the functionality of the facility, site maintenance, and grounds management. The Director Maintenance directs and oversees the outdoor Maintenance Department, which consists of numerous supervisors and twenty to thirty full time personnel, to ensure all maintenance plans and schedules are accomplished safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Plans, oversees and directs the day-to-day care and maintenance of the grass, ornamental plants, shrubs and trees on the facility grounds. Ensures facility is prepared for events.
- Oversees the recruiting, selecting, scheduling, coaching and disciplining for department supervisors. Ensures department compliance with all licensing and certifications required federal, state, and local authorities. Manage third party maintenance and labor vendors.
- Develops and implements landscape and maintenance plans, procedures, and schedules. Assess building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
- Directs the construction and maintenance of the grounds. Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Superintends the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the facility's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensures all parts, supplies, and equipment are ordered as needed for turf maintenance and overseeding as needed.
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 6-8 years of related work experience
- Knowledge in tree trimming operations & tree rehabilitation methods.
- Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in grounds keeping and maintenance work.
- Experience managing a large team and ability to train, supervise, evaluate, and motivate personnel.
- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and work with supervisors, officials, employees, members, and the general public.
- Knowledge of safe use, mixing, and application of chemicals and commercial products.
- Ability to anticipate personnel, equipment, and material requirements related to golf course maintenance and repair assignments.
- Ability to lay out irrigation patterns, drainage patterns, and construct tees and/or greens.
- Knowledge of retail purchasing and inventory control principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn required business systems
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Pesticide Applicator License
Pay Scale: $96,555.00 - $120,000.00
