About the Job
The Director of Research & Development / Support Services is responsible for a continuous flow of product research and innovation leading to the improvement of existing products and integration of third-party solutions with Harris’ product sets and the support of the aforementioned. As the Director of R&D / Support Services, the ideal candidate will be responsible for inspiring a diverse team of developers, product owners, and support staff located in multiple offices throughout the US and offshore across multiple products.
Executing accountability and promoting empowerment and ownership to the team is critical. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of inspiring innovation, supporting multiple business unit needs and collaborating with leadership to meet goals.
The candidate will oversee the R&D team's P&L and forecasting. This role's scope and responsibilities are expected to grow in the coming year(s). Our business is changing fast, and we will require significant attention to modernizing products.
This position will report to the Executive Vice President of Resolv Dental’s business unit and is a remote opportunity. Occasional travel may be required.
What your impact will be:
- Translate business goals and product requirements into actionable development plans.
- Ensure that development projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Strategic planning, direction, and control of product development activities; as well as technical input into overall business unit strategy.
- Communicate development progress and issues to management and across the organization.
- Manage both onshore (remote and in office) and offshore development teams.
- Provide technical direction and guidance for all product development and support service needs.
- Perform a full range of leadership responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees, terminations, assigning and directing work, driving performance management and managing department budgets.
- Communicate industry trends and emerging new technologies that will give the business unit a competitive edge.
- Manage strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers.
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
What we are looking for:
- 10+ years of C#/SQL Server experience
- 5+ years of general web experience (ideally in C#)
- SQL Server and IBM Informix integration experience
- Familiar with APIs, security concerns, and troubleshooting
- Experience with the Agile Process
- Willingness to talk to clients frequently to discover or clarify requirements
- Able to assist in debugging and tuning SPROCS and C# code
- Knowledge of general business financial principals
- Experience managing remote teams of professionals
- Experience in IT security and PHI standards.
- Understanding of HIPPA, PHI, and related security standards.

Salary:
- $60,000 - $75,000 USD
