Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director Sterile Processing, assumes administrative and technical responsibility, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for specified functions in Sterile Processing Department for both HCA Houston Clear Lake and  HCA Houston Mainland. The Director is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all functions of SPD and manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment. This individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of quality of services provided in these areas by all levels of technicians.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• You will actively participates in the selection, evaluation, counseling, staff development and termination of unit personnel. 
• You will function as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the staff with a focus on promoting clinical competency.
• You will be responsible for assisting with preparation and planning of budget needs for Sterile Processing Department. 
• You will work closely with clinical coordinators from above mentioned patient care services as well as with professional employees and non-professional employees of the hospital utilizing SPD services. 

What qualifications you will need:

• Prior acute care setting sterile processing management experience, preferred
• One year in OR setting, preferred
• Maintains CRST Certification (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) or Certified Surgical Tech Certification
