This position will be in-charge of preparing quarterly financial reporting package and yearly financial statements for a global magnet wire joint venture. Will assist with technical accounting matters and coordinate the annual valuations for goodwill, intangibles & put options. On a monthly basis, this person should be the key contributor to the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements. They will also be responsible for preparing some of holding company’s monthly general ledger close entries and managing the financial consolidation system.
The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS standards and financial reporting guidelines, analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization. Collaboration required with the global business units on financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinate and prepare consolidated financial statements and footnotes for a global magnet wire joint venture in accordance with IFRS quarterly & US GAAP yearly.
* Assist with preparation of the holding company’s consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
* Coordinate and assist with the annual impairment testing on goodwill and indefinite useful life intangibles and the annual valuation for a put option liability on minority interest.
* Asist with understanding impact of adoption of new accounting standards on financial statements and coordinate implementation with accounting people in global business units.
* Assist with accounting research, provide recommendations on the application of accounting standards and document the Company’s position with respect to accounting matters.
* Assist with the annual valuation, financial statement preparation and audit for the post-retirement employee benefit plans.
* Assist with monthly global consolidation including the preparation of intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
* Manage the consolidation systems (BusinessObjects) for all monthly closings.
* Prepare and record some of the holding company’s monthly general ledger close entries – equity method entries for investments in subsidiaries, interest rate swap adjustments & settlement, external/intercompany loan interest accrual & payments and tax related entries, etc.
* Reconcile some Balance Sheet accounts and any associated P&L activities for the holding company.
* Coordinate external audit on consolidated financial statements.
* Completing quarterly/yearly census reports requested by United States Census Bureau.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related
* 7+ years of experience in financial area including financial reporting or consolidation related experience
* Public accounting experience (preferred)
* Accounting experience with multi-national operations (preferred)
* IFRS experience (preferred)
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
* CPA Certification (preferred)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong analytical skills
* Ability to research accounting literature and reach conclusions
* Detail oriented
* Korean-bilingual is a plus
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
* Proficient in MS Office Excel
* Experience in BusinessObjects or OneStream is a plus
