Our organization, a leading player in the gambling industry, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Accounting to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to bring their expertise to a company that values innovation, growth, and forward-thinking leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, ensuring the integrity of accounting information, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, leadership, and advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Develop and manage financial systems and policies.
11. Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
12. Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
13. Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput.
14. Participate in acquisition and growth activities to support overall company objectives.
15. Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
2. Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in a leadership role, preferably in the gambling or construction industry.
4. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role.
5. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
6. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
7. Experienced in overseeing construction related projects as a Controller or Financial Accountant.
8. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
9. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
10. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
11. Experience with grants management and compliance.
12. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
