Role:
The Director of Benefits oversees the benefits administration team (US only) and handles all system-related benefits issues, improvements, and rollouts for our rapidly expanding nationwide service business. This role is responsible for the strategic oversight, design, implementation, and management of the company's employee benefits programs. The Director ensures that our benefits offerings are competitive, regulatory-compliant, and effectively managed, aligning with both employee needs and organizational goals.

Min Compensation:USD $100,000.00/Yr.Max Compensation:USD $120,000.00/Yr.Responsibilities:
- Mentors and develops the Benefit Administration team while monitoring day-to-day processes
- Meets with staff on a regular basis to evaluate workflow and progress
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets
- Attends all vendor meetings with the team as necessary
- Strategizes on and sets up structure for the annual open enrollment process
- Leads development of open enrollment communications and education
- Involves with the annual renewal process, including but not limited to providing comprehensive financial analysis, benchmarking, and proposed recommendations for plan changes
- Supervises and improves on the client benefit menu process
- Analyzes and monitors internal processes for efficiency
- Fosters and maintains ongoing relationships with existing health plan vendors and prospective vendors
- Provides technical expertise to internal stakeholders in the areas of benefit policy and programs
- Manages all UKG Benefit Admin Portal maintenance
- Develops and provides interdepartmental training as it pertains to systems and updates
- Responsible for the management and administration of all employee benefit plans and wellness programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, life, disability, supplemental plans, FSA, HSA, COBRA, and 401(k)
- Works closely with benefit vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction and superior administration
- Defines strategies for each benefit program, evaluates usage and effectiveness, and aligns the program structure to overall business objectives, including maintaining a competitive position within the industries with which we compete for talent
- Develops and implements proactive communication strategies to maximize the value of benefits to the employees and the organization
- Manages periodic audits of benefit plans and processes to ensure accurate and effective administration and identifies opportunities for efficiencies, including consistent review of regulatory compliance, including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and similar federal, state, and local regulations
- Researches and keeps up to date on industry trends; utilizes vendor admin systems to create reports and analyze utilization rates
- Monitors administrative costs and pricing of benefit programs and recommends cost containment strategies
- Oversees vendor management, including contracting, value review, and annual renewals
- Responsible for data integrity, enrollment audits, and billing reconciliations
- Prepares, collects, and organizes data for annual plan audits and reporting
- Maintains an external focus on best practices, regulatory requirements, and the competitive environment
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Supervisory Responsibility:
Produces value-added results through effective recruitment, delegation, performance management, training, and development of a 3-person benefits team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Fundamental understanding and extensive experience in administration of employee benefits
- Working knowledge of compliance with ERISA, IRS laws, and current regulations pertinent to health and welfare plans
- Ability to apply the results of sound research to the design, development, and implementation of benefits policies, programs, and practices
- Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical reasoning, with the ability to manage multiple processes and priorities at once
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects at once
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- High level time and work management skills
- Strong presentation skills; comfort level speaking to C-suite executives

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Over 10 years of experience in Employee Benefits, Human Resources, Group Insurance, or related areas
- Proven experience in managing employees and overseeing work performance
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of UKG Benefits Admin tool preferred
- Previous experience in the HVAC industry or a similar service-oriented business is preferred
