Our client, a distribution company, is seeking a driven Business Development Director to lead their sales efforts, grow revenue, and expand market reach.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing the sales team, and meeting key performance targets. Success in this role will be defined by achieving sales goals, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring that sales efforts align with profit margins and customer satisfaction goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop sales strategies and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Identify business opportunities by conducting market research to uncover new opportunities and customer needs.
- Set sales targets and quotas with the company’s growth objectives.
- Prepare and oversee the sales department’s budget, ensuring cost optimization.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and detailed financial reports to senior leadership.
- Lead, coach, guide, and develop the sales team, set KPIs, and monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience leading a sales team, ideally within the food service or distribution industry.
- Strong analytical and financial management skills with a track record in meeting sales targets.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to hold team members accountable.
- Ability to uphold integrity and transparency in all sales processes and negotiations, fostering trust with clients and colleagues alike.
- Ability to manage sales pipelines and client relationships, ensuring opportunities are tracked, goals are met, and records are accurate and up to date.
- Willingness to share relevant sales data and insights openly with the team, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and informed decision-making.
