Are you a seasoned healthcare leader with a passion for cardiovascular care? Our top-tier client is seeking a dynamic Director of Cardiovascular Services to join their team. This pivotal role involves overseeing critical departments, ensuring quality patient care, and driving operational excellence.
Job Summary and Qualifications:
- Responsibilities: As the Director, you’ll have 24-hour responsibility for the direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of activities within the Cath Lab, Heart and Vascular Unit, Cardiovascular Imaging, and Heart Failure Clinic. You’ll also lead Quality Assessment and Improvement initiatives across these departments.
- Integration: You’ll seamlessly integrate department services with the hospital’s primary functions, collaborating with other departments to optimize patient outcomes.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of cardiovascular services.
- Staffing: Recommend and ensure a sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide exceptional care.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance department and organizational performance.
- Quality Control: Maintain robust quality control programs.
- Education and Training: Oversee ongoing education and training for Cath Lab staff, ensuring they stay at the forefront of cardiology patient care.
- Certification: Ensure staff members are certified to perform specialized skills required in cardiovascular departments (e.g., Moderate Sedation, CPR, Venipuncture).
- Staff Meetings: Hold at least six unit-specific staff meetings annually, fostering collaboration and problem-solving.
- Patient Advocacy: Address concerns or complaints from physicians, visitors, and patients with professionalism and empathy.
- Emergency Response: Be the point person during code situations in the Cath Lab, providing direction and support.
- Liaison Role: Serve as a bridge between medical staff and nursing, advocating for both parties’ needs.
- Guidelines and Policies: Regularly review and update policies, procedures, and practice guidelines specific to Cardiac Cath Lab, Heart and Vascular Unit, Cardiovascular Imaging, and Heart Failure Clinic.
Qualifications:
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- BSN degree
- Minimum 5 years of progressive CV leadership experience
- Current RN license
