About the Job
Gedeon GRC is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to be responsible for the overall coordination at all levels during planning, design and implementation of engineering projects to ensure project completion in an efficient manner.
SALARY RANGE:
$165,000-$200,000 annually, Pay commensurate with experience
LOCATION:
Options of Remote, Hybrid ( local to the NYC Metro Area) or in office at our Syosset NY, Princeton, NJ or Newark, NJ locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
❖ Perform quality review of contract documents including plans, specifications, and estimates
❖ Manage projects, clients, staff, safety and schedules of all projects within the Civil Department
❖ Manage financial performance of the Design projects
❖ Collaborate with VP to evaluate team members on performance
❖ Lead engineering team in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for civil, as well as traffic from concept to bid documents to deliver designs
❖ Hands-on design in the preparation of design plans using Civil3D.
❖ Calculations and report preparation for storm drainage, storm water management and water quality treatment systems
❖ Review and approve engineering designs
❖ Travel to job sites to make sure design specifications and standards are being met
❖ Provide technical expertise to direct and indirect personnel regarding design work.
❖ Spearhead client meetings such as proposal, progress and completion meetings when necessary
❖ Prepare status/progress reports and meeting minutes as required
❖ All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
❖ Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering
❖ Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering
❖ NY/NJ Professional Engineer (P.E.) required
❖ Minimum of ten (10) years related experience in A/E/C industry.
❖ Knowledge/experience of project management principles, practices in civil and traffic engineering design.
❖ Experience with NYSDOT is a MUST
❖ Experience with New York (city and state) agencies and their respective design criteria/guidelines.
❖ Significant experience in roadway engineering including vertical and horizontal alignments, storm drainage and analysis, utility design, MPT/WZTC.
❖ Experience with respective federal and state design guidelines such as AASHTO.
❖ Proficiency with AutoCAD with Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, Bluebeam, and Adobe.
❖ Skilled in managing clients, projects, and engineers/CAD operators
❖ Ability to create and finalize construction drawings.
❖ Strong experience with management software including Microsoft Project or Primavera.
❖ Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and the coordination of people and resources.
❖ Expertise of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings.
❖ Strong understanding of government regulations, OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
