- Position Summary
- Directs, supervises and coordinates the functions, daily operations and activities of the Emergency Medical Services department. Selects, develops and guides staff members. Ensures that customers’ expectations are met. Develops and monitors department’s budget. Works to ensure CHC’s mission and Six Sigma goals are met.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Work Experience
- Four years of supervisory or management experience required.
Education- Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree (OR) equivalent work experience required.
Certifications/Licensure- Licensed Kentucky Paramedic required.
- Valid Kentucky driver’s license required.
- Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually.

- Develops and monitors the regulatory compliance of the Emergency Medical Services department. In collaboration with the Medical Director, ensures that policies and practices are sound and followed consistently. Implements and organizes changes when new or revised regulatory compliance items impact operations.
- Develops, analyzes, and promotes new departmental projects in a well-planned, organized manner. Assigns projects and special tasks and maintains schedule for their completion.
- Acts as liaison and resource person, providing communication to the community and other emergency services and expertise for EMS issues to hospital departments, the medical staff, committees and the Board of Directors.
- Provides data and analysis of EMS operations to key stakeholders and hospital administrators.
- Operates company vehicle. Adheres to driving laws and regulations and assures safe operation of vehicle. Conducts general maintenance checks on company vehicle. Reports maintenance issues. Maintains record of maintenance checks.
