Other divisions of Post include Post Consumer Brands (Cereal), Weetabix (Cereal – UK), Michael Foods (Foodservice), and 8th Avenue Food & Provisions (Private Label). Post has aggressive growth plans for BEF, highlighted by the recent deployment of capital to support innovation, marketing and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:The purpose of this job is to provide leadership in and management of corporate engineering, capital projects, capital planning, and engineering support services. The position provides technical leadership in the development of corporate plans and policies, the analysis and formulation of alternative plans and policies and the leadership and delegation necessary for attainment of Company goals. Support, implement, and maintain food safety practices as required through SQF. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices. This role will be based out of the corporate office in New Albany, OH.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of the Engineering function. Coordinate strategies and plans for facilities, new capacity, major projects, electrical power & controls management, and technical support for the organization.
- Direct the analysis and formulation of alternative capital plans and participate in the development of technology strategies.
- Ensure the functionoperates in coordination with other functionto meet Company strategy and business plan expectations
- Participate in the formulation, analysis and administration of Company policies and long-range strategic plans.
- Review analysis of activities and plans to determine company and department impact. Direct or participate in special projects.
- Facilitate attainment of objectives through leadership and delegation.
- Direct the plant electrical programs to ensure equipment availability, utility availability, and appropriate process controls.
- Direct the capital budgeting and planning process. Participate in the expenditure request review process.
- Provide leadership, conflict resolution and consensus management to groups and individuals within the Company, especially in relation to technologies and priorities.
- Determine and implement a balanced structure of internal and external technical resources that fits with Company strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineeringrequired; advanced degree in business desirable. Professional Engineer license and registration desirable. Knowledge of engineering, business administration and manufacturing principles required.
- Familiarity with regulatory issues (e.g. EPA, FDA, OSHA, etc.) required.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience including engineering in a manufacturing management, supervision of professional staff and business planning.
- Proven leadership competencies including delegation, communication (written and oral), negotiation, conflict resolution and supervision.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
