Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Director of Finance
Under Executive Direction:
- Oversee comprehensive accounting and finance functions, including process architecture, compliance, audits, payroll, financial close, and planning & analysis.
- Develop financial forecasts, budgeting models, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership.
- Ensure month-end close processes are completed within a tight deadline.
- Prepare and present monthly operating results, identify performance issues, and recommend action plans.
- Manage payroll functions, including sales commission calculations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, and financial institutions.
- Lead a team of 5 direct reports, managing recruitment, performance, coaching, and succession planning.
- Drive efficiencies through automation, standardization, and process improvements in financial operations.
- Oversee tax compliance, audit activities, and internal controls, supporting the company’s financial strategic planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or master’s degree in accounting/finance preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor P21
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and experience managing close and audit processes
- Experience with various forms of lending, including asset-backed and credit lines
- Strong financial expertise, including understanding of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow connections
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with digital tools for process improvement and analytics enhancement
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team through periods of change and growth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex ideas concisely
Salary
130,000 - 165,000 /year
