About the Job
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Director of Food & Beverage for Tarrytown House Estate in Tarrytown, New York. As Director of Food & Beverage, you will lead with the planning, execution and growth of the hotel’s food and beverage program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee all Food and Beverage operations to include, but not limited to, guest service, food and beverage quality, inventory management, outlet reservations and occupancy, systems management, budget and forecasting, marketing, report generation, department management and meeting participation and facilitation.
• Clearly describe, assign and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of the various food and beverage subdepartments such as room service, restaurants, banquets, kitchens, stewards, etc.
• Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
• Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained on quality and service standards, has the necessary tools and equipment, and is empowered to carry out job duties.
• Participate with the chef and culinary team in the creation and merchandising of attractive menu designs to attract a predetermined customer market.
• Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly.
• Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
• Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
• Monitor industry trends; take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations.
• Work with other Hotel Leadership members and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management, of which employee is capable of performing

Job Requirements:
• Excellent interpersonal and strong communications skills
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Food and Beverage.
• Exceptional guest recovery skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Must be dependable and available to work weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands.
• TIPS Training
• First Aid Training
• Serve Safe Food Handlers Certificate
• College Degree preferred.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a luxury hotel preferred.
