Director of Government Affairs
The Director of Government Affairs will lead the implementation of government affairs strategies and activities at the federal and state levels that advance the interests of Niagara Bottling and the bottled water industry. The Director will provide expertise to the Vice President of Economic Development and Government Relations and other Executive Leaders as needed to help develop and implement successful government relations strategies that reflect Niagara’s goals and priorities. The job may include representing the company before federal and state governments and administrative agencies, community affairs as well as strategically planning, managing and executing other activities and events that advance the company’s overall objectives.
The Director of Government Affairs will report to the Vice President of Economic Development and Government Relations.
Essential Functions
- Manage legislative initiatives through collaborative efforts with Federal and State governments
- Directs the analysis and interpretation of government policies and their potential impact to Niagara and the bottled water industry
- Identify and partner with professional lobbyist firms as appropriate and necessary
- Ensure successful implementation of legislative strategies, at the Federal and State levels, to prevent adverse cost impacts to the business
- Establish reports on business opportunities and legislation affecting company policies
- Compile and file all reports necessary to stay in compliance with the various State Offices of Ethics
- Participate in State and Regional Industry and/or Professional Associations
- Manage Niagara’s Elected Official Outreach Program (EO-OP)
- Lead local governmental relations activities with members of the Economic Development, Sustainability and Charitable Giving (Foundation) Teams when appropriate and necessary

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
*experience may include a combination of work experience and education
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
*background shall include working on Capitol Hill, serving as a Chief of Staff for a Member of the U.S. House or U.S. Senate or Secretary of a Federal Agency; and/or experience advocating for issues in the Northeast at the state level
*experience may include a combination of work experience and education

Typical Compensation Range
Pay Rate Type: Salary$173,144.04 - $242,401.66 / Yearly
Bonus Target: 20% Annual
