JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Development and Marketing , the Director of Individual and Corporate Giving executes and manages cultivation and stewardship strategies supporting fundraising campaigns, gift planning and major gift procurement, donor relations, and annual giving. With an emphasis on securing contributions of $10,000 and above, the Director is a seasoned, creative, and strategic fundraising professional who consistently meets and exceeds aggressive fundraising goals.
Responsibilities
- Creates and executes strategic individual and corporate engagement strategies to secure donations and meet fundraising targets. Proactively cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual and corporate partners;
- Develops and serves as a lead relationship manager for a portfolio of 125 individual and corporate prospects. Works to broaden SERV's donor portfolio throughout New Jersey.
- Completes 12-15 monthly personal visits and maintains timely records of all contacts in the CRM;
- Collaborates with the SVP to set aggressive annual and monthly revenue goals; provides reporting to SVP on individual and corporate giving program performance;
- Solicits corporate sponsorships for SERV's events. Attends and assists with external and internal SERV events as requested and needed;
- Collaborates with the SVP and the Communications team to write and distribute targeted donor solicitation appeals;
- Supports and advises the CEO, SVP, and members of the Board of Directors in their solicitation efforts;
- Performs other fundraising tasks and additional duties as assigned or necessary to support departmental or organizational goals.
- Comprehensive proficiency in best practices in fundraising.
- Strategic, creative, mature, diplomatic, and with strong people skills.
- Professional, poised, and comfortable speaking with the public.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Outgoing personality and willingness to take the initiative.
- Comfortable making cold calls and pitches to potential donors.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and donor management software (Bloomerang)
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to respond flexibly and efficiently to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel frequently to events and meetings.
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of five years of successful direct fundraising experience
- Proven success in building individual and corporate giving programs, including experience in annual giving, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer fundraising, sponsorships, capital fundraising, and major gifts, with a demonstrated ability to close donations of $10,000 and more.
- Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
