POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation Liaison Officer oversees the Office of Institutional Assessment and Research, provides direction for the Office for Institutional Effectiveness, and is responsible for managing the University’s compliance, assessment, and accreditation programs. This position also serves as the coordinator for institutional accreditation and plays a key role in ensuring the University’s ongoing reporting and compliance with its accrediting bodies and related partners.

Position Specific Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the Office for Institutional Effectiveness.
- Advise and assist the Chief Academic Officer in developing a culture of assessment across the university.
- Develop and implement systems of assessment across departments and programs for the measuring of institutional effectiveness.
- In consultation with the Chief Academic Officer, coordinate strategic, departmental, and programmatic planning activities in line with the university strategic plan; ensure that planning is integrated with budgeting and assessment cycles.
- Work with faculty leaders, instructional and student services administrators to carry out effective program/function review and assessment processes; facilitate use of assessment results in planning.
- Ensure program assessment activities are properly designed, implemented, analyzed, and reported in a manner that is useful for curricular and program improvement.
- Collaborate with deans and faculty members to design, implement, and maintain assessments of student learning; support the development of learning goals and measures, curricular and program maps, and assessment instruments (e.g., rubrics).
- Plan, organize, direct, and implement an ongoing program of Academic Program Reviews.
- Remain current on all accrediting bodies’ standards, policies, and procedures.
- Review proposed institutional changes and advise decision-makers of any accreditation responsibilities that may be impacted by the change.
- Monitor changes that would require accreditation notification or substantive change and ensure that notification to accrediting bodies is satisfied before implementation.
- Distribute accreditation communications to key decision-makers as appropriate.
- Coordinate the submission of substantive changes, progress reports, annual reports, and other notifications to ensure the institution is fulfilling its obligations to accrediting bodies.
- Coordinate timely preparations for evaluation team visits and staff consultation visits.
- Advise the Chief Academic Officer and administration concerning timelines and preparations needed for substantive change, progress reports, and evaluation team visits.
- Create and manage the departmental budgets for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
- Maintain a file of all accreditation materials and reports related to reviews, accreditation committee reports, accreditation manuals, standards, and policies, schedules of all visits, and correspondence from accrediting offices.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide direct oversight to the Research Data Analyst
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership or related field, required.
- Doctorate degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of higher education experience is required.
- Experience with assessment of institutional effectiveness, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in academic outcomes assessment and knowledge of its best practices.
- Ability for critical and logical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- The ability to interpret data and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
- The ability to develop, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
