Job Summary:
Train, Mentor and Coach Market Development Managers (MDM'S) as they identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand market share and drive business growth with current and potential customers. This position supports the strategic business plan by developing and supporting a high performing market development team which is focused on effectively cultivating and delivering business opportunities that align with the company's growth and diversification objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure market development efforts align with Mid-States strategic business plan.
- Guide and mentor MDMs in conducting effective market research, analyzing market data, and developing strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones.
- Facilitate strong collaboration between operations and market development teams to ensure offerings are aligned with market needs and customer preferences in the assigned segment and geographical location.
- Lead and support MDMs in the development and execution of go-to-market plans for a vertical market segment as it relates to an industrial user's maintenance, re-construction, or new construction needs.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of market development strategies and contributor performance to company objectives.
- Analyze data and monitor the performance of market development teams against established KPIs and provide feedback/direction for continuous improvement.
- Conduct regularly scheduled MDM team meetings to promote collaboration, innovation, and support amongst peers. Ensure consistency of messages.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including MDMs, Field Market Development Managers, clients, industry partners, and business collaborators.
- When needed Make customer presentations and negotiate deals that align with the company's strategic growth plan.
- Close sales, with delivery performance that exemplifies best-in-class standards of a top professional/executive.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with senior leadership to report on the state of the market development strategic efforts and results to plan.
- Coordinate marketing tactics to enable demand creation and reach/influence of legacy and new business accounts.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred. May substitute progressing experience in the industrial maintenance industry in lieu of education.
Experience:
- Experience in the industrial maintenance industry with industry contacts. 10+ Years of experience in market development, business development or strategic marketing roles with at least 5+ years in a mid-senior leadership position.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to analyze data and make informed data driven decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to guide cross functional work groups to a common goal and solution.
- Ability to lead others through exciting and challenging times while addressing difficult matters directly and constructively.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to explain the why and the how.
- Comfort working with and presenting to senior leadership and C-suite Executives.
- Demonstrated record of best -in-class business to business sales capabilities.
Work Location and Travel:
- Office or remote depending on location.
- The primary office is located at 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, FL 3380.
- Travel to client sites and corporate offices is required.
- Days and hours of work may vary at times to include some evenings and weekends.
