Director of Nursing (DNS) - St. Joseph Living Center

Saint Joseph Living Center is proud to be a non-profit, 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in Windham, CT. We offer short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care. We are a Catholic faith-based community sponsored by the Diocese of Norwich, but we welcome residents and staff of all faiths. The Center features both indoor and outdoor amenities, including a Chapel with daily mass and a beautiful enclosed courtyard.

Position Summary:

As the Director of Nursing (DNS), you will work in-tandem with the Assistant Director of Nursing to champion the Nursing Department which consists of a diverse and talented team of RN's, LPN's and CNA's. The Director of Nursing will support and supervise the nursing staff to ensure high quality care is provided to our Residents in a competent and compassionate manner.

Primary Responsibilities as the Director of Nursing (DNS):

• Develop and implement the written staffing plan that reflects the needs of the department
• Perform rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care
• Develop, manage, and evaluate department policies and procedures in accordance with current rules and regulations
• Deliver written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary concerning the operation of the nursing department
• Review complaints and grievances filed by residents, family members and nursing staff
• Ensure regulatory compliance with annual surveys
• Represent the Organization both onsite and in the community
• Maintain regulatory compliance in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, staff and medical team
• Work in partnership with the Administrator to ensure quality, person-centered care

Director of Nursing (DNS) Qualifications:

• Active Connecticut RN Licensure
• Previous supervisory experience in a long-term care facility
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
