Job Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and profitability. This role involves strategic planning, improving operational systems, processes, and policies, and managing a team of department heads to achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of managing operations in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the pastor to set and achieve short and long-term organizational goals.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance and recommend improvements.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department heads, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in the preparation and management of the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee procurement and supply chain management to optimize resource utilization.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and increase productivity.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and operational enhancements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with administrative staff members, heads of parish organizations, and coordinators of volunteer organizations to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to achieve organizational objectives.
- Act as a liaison between administrative staff and operational staff.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure the security of company assets and data.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using operational software and tools.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Primarily office-based with some travel required to various company locations.
- May involve extended hours and occasional weekends to meet project deadlines.
