Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations as a member of the Financial Development Team's Senior Staff, the incumbent is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of a holistic donor engagement plan that includes all aspects of event planning and donor stewardship. The Director of Philanthropy: Donor Events and Engagement crafts the department's goals and long-term plans to ensure that the activities support the overall strategy of the Financial Development Office as well as the YMCA of Greater Seattle. The Director may provide high-level guidance to the Y's Centers of Excellence and branches regarding best practices in donor relations, as well as serve as a central repository for best practices across the Association. The Director will provide a sophisticated, continuous improvement process and the highest level of customer service intended to ensure that donors interact with representatives of YGS in ways that foster their long-term engagement and investment in annual, capital, and programmatic initiatives.
Hiring Range: $95,000 - $110,000/year
Responsibilities
Oversee Event Strategy and Logistics: (40%)
+ Leads strategic planning and management of all association-wide cultivation, solicitation and stewardship events.
+ Serves as the primary resource in the coordination of event logistics for all cultivation, stewardship, and donor visits throughout the year
+ Develops goals and objectives for each event that link to overarching Financial Development strategic goals (both operations and capital)
+ Oversees the development of each event's sponsorship plan. Ensures all stewardship of sponsors happens as promised
+ Identifies and creates engaging YGS events that better cultivate donors and potential donors with the objective of deepening their understanding of and connection to the Y.
+ Leads audience development for each event in conjunction with other YMCA staff both within and outside of the Financial Development department.
+ Produces and evaluates post-event surveys to assess effectiveness of event against objectives
+ Handles vendor contracts, event budgets, and establishes event deadlines
+ Develops volunteers plans to support events and handles recruiting, training, and stewardship of volunteers
+ Prepares and submits donor research reports for YGS leadership in preparation of events and activities
Oversee Donor Engagement Program: (40%)
+ Ensure integrated stewardship programming through collaborative communications and participation in prospect review meetings with gift officers.
+ Create and manage a digital calendar of stewardship actions for gift officers, ensuring timely execution of communication to prospects
+ Manage and plan impact visits and events for board members and supporters to more deeply engage people in the Y's work
+ Manage overall strategy for thank you letter system for all gifts to YGS to include overseeing creation of all acknowledgement letters (with special focus on letters from the YGS President and CDO) and pledge reminders and coordinate execution of those documents with Donor Services
+ Manage annual endowment report process; ensure endowments are reported on annually and stewarded appropriately, to include ensuring that endowments are being used appropriately; evaluate reports for accuracy
+ Revamp and oversee overall donor recognition program
+ Oversee management of existing gift societies (Heritage Club) and consider strategy for additional recognition societies.
Management and Overarching Strategy: (20%)
+ Lead and advise Donor Engagement work by providing overarching strategy and direction for an institution-wide program of recognition, and stewardship of individual donors as well as corporate/foundation partners of YGS.
+ Develop the expense budget for events and stewardship activities. Oversee expenditures to ensure they stay within budgeted guidelines.
+ In partnership with the Experience Team and within brand standards, oversee the design and development of collateral materials including event décor and signage

Qualifications
+ We welcome candidates from all educational backgrounds with at least three years' practical knowledge in donor relations, stewardship and/or event management.
+ Experience in non-profits and/or matrix organizational structures.?
+ Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Comfortable navigating and utilizing Microsoft 365 cloud-based services, such as OneDrive and SharePoint. ?
+ Experience in developing and managing budgets
+ Superior analytical and problem solving skills.?
+ Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail, strong organizational skills.?
+ Ability to meet firm deadlines.?
+ Demonstrated expertise in utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) software to effectively manage donor data, track interactions, and streamline fundraising process. Experience with Raiser's Edge or Salesforce is a plus.
