Job Description:
The Director of Planned Giving will play a critical role in managing and growing our client’s planned giving initiatives. This role focuses on building long-term relationships with donors and cultivating support through estate planning and other philanthropic strategies. You will work closely with senior leadership to create and execute strategies that ensure the continued financial support of the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive planned giving program.
- Cultivate relationships with donors and professional advisors, offering estate planning expertise.
- Oversee a portfolio of donors and prospective contributors, focusing on planned giving and legacy commitments.
- Collaborate with the finance and development teams to ensure seamless administration of gifts and compliance with regulations.
- Create and manage marketing and outreach materials to promote planned giving opportunities.
- Provide personalized donor stewardship and ensure recognition of contributions.
- Support the development team during key fundraising events and initiatives.
- Track and report on program performance and pipeline revenue.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in planned giving or related development roles.
- Strong knowledge of estate and financial planning, including charitable giving tax implications.
- Proven track record of successfully securing major and planned gifts.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, especially with high-net-worth individuals.
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with relevant certifications or memberships in philanthropic organizations (e.g., AFP, CGP) a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
