A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING . . .
- Reports to Sr. Director of Marketing
- Responsible for developing, leading, and executing promotion and sales vision, strategy, standards, and plans
- Accountable for developing and fulfilling key performance indicators that drive ratings, revenue, and enhance image
- Builds, strengthens and communicates the value proposition and brand identity through advertising and promotional strategy
- Sets direction and coordinates annual/weekly ad strategy with product directors, which includes:
- Facilitating ad planning and development (i.e. Big Board Buys & Market Buys)
- Reviewing and communicating competitive promotional product and pricing position in our market area
- Coordinating and reviewing total market ad mix across total company
- Providing total basket analysis for key banner item purchases
- Develops and executes promotional strategies and campaigns that create awareness, generates engagement and boosts sales
- Collaborates with the Executive Group to define overall pricing strategy and works with Product Directors and the Senior Pricing Analyst on category reviews, competitive pricing, and product mix analysis
- Analyzes company performance and creates reporting on sales, gross, guest and item growth, and transaction size/makeup
- Coaches and develops Specialists and Category Managers in relation to promotional strategies
- Participates in the integration of our overall retail pricing strategy through strategic planning for ad pricing and item selection
- Keeps the company informed of consumer research and stays current with competitors and the industry
- Oversees relationships and works with any outside sales and promotional partners
- Partners closely with pricing, merchandising and data analytics to build out the sales and promotion strategy and execution
- Drives results through staff development and appropriate training programs, and monitors results through feedback, coaching and analysis
- Partners with People Support Services to attract, develop, and retain talented and well-suited people in a timely manner to support the strategic priorities of the enterprise
- Ensures the dissemination of and adherence to all company and department policies
- Provides and role models hospitality to employees and guests

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF . . .
- A minimum of five years’ experience in marketing and promotion leadership across retail, digital and ecommerce; ideally for a retail grocery company
- Experience in analyzing data to derive insights and drive action
- Experience managing social media and SEO
- Deep understanding of consumer relevance as it relates to branding and positioning
- Experience developing CRM strategies to execute promotion and sales programs
- Proven experience in creating, developing, and implementing promotion, sales, and merchandising strategies and programs
- Proven experience in leading high functioning teams
- Broad experience and knowledge of building promotions, sales, and merchandising preferably in food, beverage or retail company
- Ability to prepare corporate reports, budgets, forecasts, P&L’s, etc.
- Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills and experience
- Excellent facilitation and organizational skills for planning and conducting effective team meetings
- Commitment to personal and professional development as well as team development
- Must possess strong communication skills including listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Must possess intermediate or higher computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a diverse group of guests, employees and vendors
- Demonstrates self-discipline and accountability
- Must possess a strong desire to work hard, be enthusiastic, participate in achieving management goals, and lead by example
