SUMMARY:
The Director of Purchasing is responsible for leading the procurement strategy for [Company Name], ensuring the timely acquisition of quality goods and services at optimal costs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the purchasing team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor and manage the purchasing budget to ensure financial compliance.
- Analyze market trends to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align purchasing needs with operational requirements.
- Track and report on purchasing metrics, providing insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of market dynamics, pricing strategies, and supplier evaluation.
