Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Rehabilitation Services to plan, administer, and direct operation of rehabilitation programs such as physical, occupational, and speech therapies. The Director will work Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts per day.

Silver Lake Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital with a reputation of providing patients with a place to heal before heading home. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in traditional general hospitals. The average length of stay in an LTACH is 25 days as compared to a 3-5 day average stay in a general hospital. Our safe and state of the art hospital is designed to admit and care for the most critically ill patients.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Rehabilitation Services plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs and supervises all physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services in accordance with policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations. Oversees day to day assessments, individual and group treatment and Rehab department staff. Performs duties as needed including assessments, direct patient care, and charting. Prepares and submits daily productivity reports to Administration. Reviews & co-signs all PTA's and students notes in EMR. Attends family conferences, when requested. Evaluates student performance and enters grades into student portal. The position involves direct patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in physical, occupational, speech therapy, or similar clinical field is required. Master's degree preferred.
Must possess current NJ State license in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy.
Valid BLS certification required upon hire from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of regulatory standards, strong leadership abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; limited knowledge in EMR systems.
- Minimum of 3+ years in a supervisory role in a long term care/critical care setting preferred.
