Location: Murrieta, CA
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Risk Management to join our partner medical facility in Murrieta, CA. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's risk management and patient safety programs.
Responsibilities:
- Risk Management Program Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management program that identifies, analyzes, and mitigates potential risks to patients, staff, and the organization.
- Patient Safety: Serve as the Patient Safety Officer, leading initiatives to enhance patient safety, reduce medical errors, and promote a culture of safety throughout the facility.
- Compliance Oversight: Act as the Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and adverse events, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Claims Management: Manage and oversee claims related to patient safety and risk management issues.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with department leaders, medical staff, and other stakeholders to identify and address potential risks.
- Education and Training: Develop and deliver education and training programs on risk management, patient safety, and compliance topics for staff at all levels.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of a state-accredited school of nursing OR
- Graduate of an accredited collegiate program in a health-science-related field.
- Master's degree in a healthcare-related field OR Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years of director-level experience.
- Experience:
- At least four (4) years of leadership experience in an acute care facility.
- Certifications:
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) OR Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
