We're on the hunt for a dynamic leader to steer our global Application Software Engineering team in Lakewood, CO. If you're passionate about medical devices and have a knack for .Net applications, this role is for you!
What You'll Do:
- Lead and Inspire: Provide strategic leadership and direction to a globally distributed team of tech leads, architects, and engineering managers. Ensure alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Drive Innovation: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to commercial deployment. Ensure all products meet FDA and global regulatory requirements specific to medical software while adhering to the company's Quality System regulations.
- Manage Resources: Handle budget, resource allocation, and project timelines across multiple development sites. This includes cost estimation, staffing decisions, and risk management activities.
- Foster Collaboration: Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across cross-functional software development teams.
- Optimize Processes: Develop and execute short and long-term planning processes that establish technical objectives, project priorities, and milestones for business unit projects. Ensure consistency and efficiency in a distributed environment.
- Ensure Compliance: Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. Continuously improve processes and product quality.
- Evaluate Opportunities: Identify and evaluate new product opportunities and emerging technologies. Articulate value propositions and potential risks to senior management.
- Manage Customer Expectations: Oversee system change processes, address technical product/market concerns, and coordinate release schedules and features.
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: A B.S. degree in Engineering is required, preferably in computer science, software, or mathematics. An M.S. or PhD degree in Engineering combined with a management degree is preferred.
- Extensive Experience: Minimum 12 years of progressive experience developing software products, with at least 7 years in a management capacity. Experience in medical device software development is strongly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with .Net applications is a must. Proficiency in Azure, Kubernetes, cybersecurity, and related technologies is highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-discipline, globally distributed software development team. History of developing both technology and people leadership in a distributed team environment.
- Project Management: Experience with program and project management methods and tools in a globally distributed environment. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret and communicate complex engineering requirements.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of current FDA regulatory and ISO requirements and trends affecting medical device software. Advanced understanding and application of Design C
