This pivotal role involves steering supply chain operations, encompassing strategic planning, vendor management, procurement, logistics, and inventory control, to ensure the organization meets its business and customer demands. The perfect candidate will bring substantial experience in supply chain leadership, a thorough understanding of the ingredient/raw materials market, and exceptional communication skills.
**This is a hybrid role in New Haven, CT
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Development: Craft and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies for ingredient development and supply. Collaborate closely with Sales, R&D/Science, and Finance teams to align supply chain activities with company objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and nurture the Supply Chain Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain and enhance relationships with key supply partners, negotiate pricing and contracts, and sustain strong personal connections.
- Executive Support: Assist the COO and CEO in facilitating top-level supply partner relationships crucial to the company's success.
- Manufacturing Oversight: Organize and manage the procurement of raw materials for contract-manufactured ingredients.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations, identify improvement areas, and implement necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Procurement Optimization: Oversee and refine the procurement process to ensure cost-effective sourcing and foster new supply relationships.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and adjust inventory levels based on forecasts and market trends to balance cost and availability, identifying and mitigating supply-related risks.
- Logistics and Warehousing: Supervise logistics and warehousing operations to ensure efficient processes and timely delivery.
- Import Processes: Manage import-related processes and documentation, including ISF filing, Transitory in Bond, Duty Drawback, Import Permits, and Vessel Masking.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver insightful reports to the Leadership Team and other stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in supply chain management, focusing on ingredients/raw materials.
- Proven success in a senior supply chain role with strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a knack for building relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Experience in sales or business development within the nutritional/dietary supplement industry.
- Experience working with international supply partners.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in supply chain management.
Compensation: $120,000-140,000
