Director of Support Services Full Time at Manatee Memorial Hospital

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall operations and management of the Engineering/Maintenance, Security, Mail room, Emergency Management, - and Safety Officer functions at MMH.Responsible for the participation and final recommendations for the budget process, merchandise/equipment procurement to the COO with appropriate CAR / PAC submissions. Recommends and participates in quality improvement projects, energy conservation, tracks and analyzes findings and implements improvements as needed. Assures compliance with Federal/State regulatory agencies, rules and regulations. Manages communication and tasks between Security, Mail room, Emergency Management, -the Environment of Care Committee, Government agencies, and departments within the hospital. Participates in off site government functions related to Emergency and Security management, and implements programs and procedures related to these functions. Manages Joint Commission compliance efforts within the Environment of Care, primarily, Emergency Management, Security, and Hazmat. Responsible for Policies and Procedure devolvement and implementation. Participates and recommends the hiring, termination and progressive discipline of applicants and employees as needed. - Demonstrates and assures a professional, cooperative interaction with all hospital departments, medical staff, regulatory agencies, city and county employees (EMS, Police dept) - and the public in keeping with the mission and philosophy of Manatee Memorial Hospital at all times. - Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. - Other duties as assigned. - -About Manatee Memorial Hospital (MMH):Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over 70 years. Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years Directing / managing multiple departments with extensive experience in the Engineering/Maintenance field.Ability to evaluate facility problems and perform necessary repairs if needed.Broad knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical repairs and systems, utilities, grounds care and total building systems associated with the health care industry.Receives and evaluates safety deficiencies problems and failures. - Must possess the ability to ready, analyze and interpret scientific, technical and mechanical schematics/blueprints.Knowledge of all fire protection codes and all accrediting agencies, JCAHO, AHCA, State & Local.Knowledge of Security departments and overall procedural functions.Broad knowledge of Emergency Management and overall procedural functions.Broad knowledge of safety and at least 7 years of serving as a Safety Officer in a healthcare setting. - -EEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
