Role Summary
The Disability Inclusion Manager is responsible for several key projects to ensure that Relay's employees are supported throughout their time with the company by delivering services through a disability inclusion lens. This role helps support employees with disabilities by 1) Providing disability inclusion training and tracking training to employees, 2) Lead and project manage disability inclusion reviews and audits of Relay work sites. Affordable housing properties and practices, 3) Coordinating Relay's engagement and attendance of community events, and 4) All other projects as needed and as assigned.
This role will work at the Relay Resources office during most normal business hours as well as with Employees, Supervisors, Trainers, and other Relay staff in the field. Because of this, it is important to maintain a flexible work schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Development
- Work with the Director of Engagement and Belonging and Employee Resource Specialist to create and maintain a system and/or database to efficiently schedule and track staff training. This includes:
- Staff attendance of training to ensure that key identified staff have completed mandatory/essential training and conducting outreach to staff and their managers/supervisors.
- Efficiency of trainings. Create an evaluation process and questions to solicit feedback and suggestions for staff who have completed the trainings.
- Disability Inclusion Audit
- Assists with an assessment and audit of Relay's affordable housing building and processes. This will include, but not limited to safety needs and supports
- Accessibility needs and supports
- Soliciting feedback from residents on other support needs in place
- Create and maintain a database of all findings and recommendations.
- Work with Finance and Workplace Innovation to determine timelines, costs, and other essentials.
- Community Organization: Engagement and Coordination
- Identify potential community partners who might offer resources needed by Relay employees and develop relationships with these partners to refer individuals to their services
- Organize community partner information including points of contact, resources offered, employees/residents referred, and communications plans and create and maintain a database to track and update on a regular basis.
- Coordinate a presence for Relay Resources at community events. This will include at-tending events, supplying an exhibitor booth, sponsorship, and other collaborative activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to work with a diverse population including adults with disabilities and/or language barriers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Data entry skills and superb attention to detail; ability to accurately maintain file and record-keeping systems across several databases
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects at once and follow through on tasks and projects to completion
- High level of computer proficiency preferred, specifically in Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to respect and maintain strict confidentiality standards
- Proficiency with standard office equipment
- Ability to complete a criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting as appropriate at any time during employment
- Valid driver's license and reliable automobile, safe driving record, and insurance coverage acceptable to RR's insurance carrier
Qualifications
- A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university in a social services-related field is desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required).
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years working with persons with physical, mental, and/or cognitive disabilities
- At least two years additional experience in a medical, mental health, or social work setting
- Working knowledge of disabilities, vocational issues, associated terminology, and medical/educational/governmental documentation and processes/strategies.
- Bilingual/multi-lingual communication is a plus
Work Environment
- Standard office environment, travel to off-site locations, moderate noise level
Other Requirements
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound independent decision-making.
- Collaborate with Disability Inclusion leaders to create, maintain, lead and attend employee trainings
- Create and implement disability inclusion evaluation processes to ensure ongoing improvements including, but not limited to, accessibility, supports, and trainings
- Assist with the assessment and audit of Relay's affordable housing properties and processes in relation to its residents and potential residents
- Create and maintain a database of all findings and recommendations
- Work with Finance and Workplace Innovation to determine and maintain timelines, costs, and other essentials
- Identify and maintain relationships with community partners whose resources are beneficial to Relay employees
- Organize community partner information including points of contact, resources offered, employees/residents referred, and communications plans and create and maintain a database to track and update on a regular basis
- Coordinate a presence for Relay Resources at community events including attending events, supplying an exhibitor booth, sponsorship, and other collaborative activities.
- You are excellent at working independently with minimal supervision to make mission-oriented decisions

- You have reliable transportation to get to Relay's main campus and other worksites as needed during varied hours throughout the day and evening

- You have a minimum of 2 - 3 years working with persons with physical, mental, and/or cognitive disabilities and/or you have a lived experience that informs your ability to perform the role
- You have at least two years of additional experience in a medical, mental health, or social work setting
- You know and are continually learning about disabilities, vocational issues, associated terminology, medical/educational/governmental documentation and best practices around disability inclusion processes/strategies.
