Job Description
AECOM’s Disaster Resilience Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) is seeking a creative Director of Growth and Strategy to promote AECOM’s Disaster Resilience services across local, state, and federal clients within the United States and globally. This position will be accountable for the development and support of a cross-business line strategy to grow the Disaster Resilience portfolio.
The Director of Growth and Strategy will possess knowledge of and significant experience with FEMA and/or HUD related disaster programs such as the Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, CDBG, and CDBG-DR programs for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
_This will be a remote position that can be based from a variety of US locations._
Job Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
+ Drive the development and implementation of a xBL Disaster Resilience growth & strategy plan.
+ Develop and implement additional marketing and social media strategies/plans.
+ Coach, mentor and develop staff who support project execution and growth/business development activities.
+ Monitor legislation and federal funding allocations that directly tie to Disaster Resilience opportunities.
+ Anticipate opportunities and trends in the industry, market sector and in adjacent market sectors to identify opportunities for growth.
+ Drive growth and a maintain an understanding of local/state/federal government contracting and procurement processes.
+ Coordinate across all business lines and region resources to best position AECOM to capture work.
+ Identify and build pipeline of identified opportunities to meet booking goals.
+ Update and maintain opportunity tracking database.
+ Cultivate a network of client relationships to appropriately pre-position for identified opportunities.
+ Identify new, key prospective clients. Establish contact with potential clients, meet with and effectively sell AECOM’s Disaster Resilience services.
+ Leverage existing agency contracts and relationships to advance AECOM’s contracting interests with a focus on extending market presence and growing work pipeline.
+ Build strong relationships and interact regularly with teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders within the Disaster Resilience industry.
+ Serve as an ambassador for the PfMO within the Disaster Resilience industry and with AECOM’s network of resources.
+ Analyze prospective opportunities from a risk/reward perspective and drive go/no-go decisions and pursuit planning - including recommending teaming structure, providing insight into positioning compared to competitors, and leading risk committee presentations where this analysis is presented for consideration.
+ Oversee the development of capture strategies and lead or direct pursuits including capture planning, proposal development and provide insight into fee development (as appropriate) for same
+ Draw in technical expertise from across the organization to support pursuits.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including at least 4 years of leadership with Disaster Recovery related projects.
+ Willingness to travel to engage with clients, AECOM Team members, and others as appropriate to create touchpoints that enhance business relationships and extend contracting opportunities – estimated at ~30%
+ Experience managing teams in various geographic locations.
+ Experience identifying and cultivating client relationships and leads that result in contracting opportunities.
+ Experience leading capture and proposal efforts with the ability to develop compelling messaging and win themes.
+ Self-motived with the ability to make key decisions independently with minimal direction.
+ For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
+ Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Proven Business Development experience in Disaster Recovery/Response with a private consulting firm.
+ Extensive knowledge of local, state and federal markets.
+ Financial and business acumen.
+ Understanding of financial P&L elements such as NSR, Gross Margin, BD ROI, and Book-to-burn.
+ Strong presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate sometimes complex situations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $185,000.00 - $205,000.00.
