Qualifications
Thorough understanding of warehouse operations (e.g. inventory, shipping & receiving)
Good organizational and multitasking skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work with multiple cross functional teams
Supervisory experience to include leading, instructing, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action
Must have computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Associate’s Degree preferred
Minimum 5 years warehouse operational experience required
PC skills and inventory and shipping/receiving systems experience required
Forklift experience required
Revenue and Profits:
The Distribution Center Manager clearly understands that as a condition of his/her employment it is his/her responsibility to utilize and adhere to all company processes and procedures as well as utilize all best efforts in generating revenue for the company. All pricing of parts and services will be defined in a method of computation outlined by the business owner/operator. The Distribution Center Manager is to discuss reason for any substantial discounting for services or parts with the business owner/operator prior to making a final decision. In all cases the Distribution Center Manager should immediately inform Management of any inabilities to perform in the areas of revenue generation, and to additionally provide the reasoning for such inability. Distribution Center Manager recognizes that in good part, his/her performance will be evaluated by his/her ability to reach and maintain gross revenue, gross profit and customer service goals set forth by the business owner/operator.
Training Programs and Regular Business Meetings:
With appropriate notification, the Distribution Center Manager agrees to attend and participate in all career specific seminars, training courses, industry related certification programs and internal company training and or meetings recommended or scheduled by the business owner/operator.
General Conduct:
It is the responsibility of the Distribution Center Manager to always conduct him/herself in a professional manner. This includes the agreement not to use any foul or objectionable language towards any customer, vendor, co-worker or employee. To refrain from any negative comments about any customer, vendor, competitor or employee. As a Distribution Center Manager, you are expected to maintain composure with all customers, vendors and employees at all times and to carry out all defined duties in a professional manner.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk over 50% of work time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
