Job Description:
This is a position in the Facilities Management department that requires some experience in locksmith work. Experience in a healthcare setting will be helpful.
Regardless of specialty, a Maintenance Specialist may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects.
Essential Functions
+ Installs, maintains, and repairs locking devices for wooden medication cabinets, lock cores, and keys for metal desks and cabinets.
+ Maintains a door-locking program that permits emergency access by security and maintenance personnel at any time.
+ May use specialized locking devices such as cipher, combination, or other coded locking devices that have the capability for key access.
+ Maintains, repairs and rebuilds lock cores; cut keys as needed and maintain key control for safety and security of buildings and staff.
+ Adjusts and repairs hinges, latches, strikes, closing devices, etc.

Qualifications
