Starting wage: $33.95 - $41.95 per hour DOE
Job Summary:
Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Draftsman to join our Heritage Equipment team.
This position will have primary responsibility for the reproduction parts design, parts reproduction manufacturing, research vendor capabilities, troubleshooting of parts integration for the company’s vintage equipment collection.
Essential Functions:
• Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
• Design flat pattern parts for water/laser/plasma/torch, understand capabilities and limitations of each process and be able to select most viable option for parts that are drawn.
• Design parts for machining including parts from castings and fully machined parts such as shafts and other fabrications
• Design parts in solid modeling software from scan data.
• Create assemblies of modeled parts to check fits and interferences
• Operate 3D scanning equipment
• Operate 3D Printing equipment for prototyping and pattern making
• Create Bill of Materials for assemblies
• Consistently work at acceptable production levels
• Knowledge of material composition for selection of proper materials for engineered parts such as castings, shafts, and fabrications
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications:
• General knowledge of gears and basic design principles
• Experience with solid modeling software, such as Solid Works
• Experience with 3D scanning equipment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer skills including excel, word, email
• Ability to plan, develop and organize multiple demands
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Self-motivation; results oriented
• Valid Driver’s License
• Pass a drug, physical, and background check
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
