Position Summary:
The Drive Cam Manager is responsible for the oversight, management, and analysis of video footage captured by drive cam systems installed on transit buses. This role involves reviewing, classifying, and documenting safety-related events from video clips, coaching employees to improve driving behavior, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The Drive Cam Manager ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory safety standards by working collaboratively with operators, supervisors, and leadership to reduce incidents and improve operational safety.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Video Review & Event Classification:
+ Analyze and review video clips flagged by the drive cam system to identify safety infractions and risky driving behavior.
+ Classify events based on the severity and type of infraction (e.g., speeding, distracted driving, hard braking).
+ Document and maintain detailed records of all reviewed video events, including time, date, and specific behavior noted.
+ Coaching & Counseling Employees:
+ Provide one-on-one coaching sessions with operators to discuss infractions and recommend corrective actions.
+ Use video footage as a tool to facilitate constructive feedback and enhance driver awareness.
+ Collaborate with supervisors to develop individualized coaching plans to support employee improvement.
+ Recognize and highlight positive driving behaviors to encourage best practices among staff.
+ Reporting & Data Management:
+ Generate regular reports on safety trends, recurring infractions, and areas for improvement.
+ Present findings to the leadership team and recommend changes to policies or training programs.
+ Ensure all records are accurately stored and available for audits or investigations as needed.
+ Policy Compliance & Program Development:
+ Ensure that all coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions align with company policies and labor agreements.
+ Collaborate with Safety and Operations teams to develop and update policies related to driver performance and safety.
+ Support the integration of new safety technology or software as needed.
+ Training & Continuous Improvement:
+ Assist in developing training materials and programs aimed at improving driving behavior and safety awareness.
+ Monitor safety trends and advancements in drive cam technology to enhance the effectiveness of the program.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Safety Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 3+ years of experience in safety management, transportation operations, or coaching/counseling employees in a performance-based role.
+ Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and transit operations.
+ Experience with video review systems (e.g., DriveCam, SmartDrive) is preferred.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Work Environment:
+ Office-based with occasional travel to field locations to meet with drivers or conduct site evaluations.
+ May require early mornings, evenings, or weekends to meet operational needs.
